Thira Malayalam Movie Review and Box Office Collection Report by FHM

Vineeth Sreenivasan has established himself as a director upon whom the audience trust blindfolded. This is what we can learn from the initial buzz that was created by Thira. The trailer was promising and the the songs composed by Shaan Rahman has been well received.
After Thattathin Marayath last year, Vineeth has come up with a thriller. The script of the movie was co-written by Vineeth and his cousin Rakesh Mantodi. The movie was not as racy as expected and also had many plot holes as well as loose ends which comes up to our mind without any second thoughts. Still the movie was engaging to watch with changing the pace from corner to corner. The theme that is brought up in the movie is relevant to the current circumstances and we can say that a must watch for parents who has their children in distant places. Still the closeness of the movie to the reality is debatable.
Shobana in the lead role as Dr. Rohini Pranab was a treat to watch and dominated the whole movie. Dhyan Sreenivasan has done a fair job in his debut. The editing department and Shobana as his lead counterpart has made his performance to look better. The suppotting cast is huge but the screen time is very few to mention any. The promising talent Deepak Parambol didn't have nothing much to do in his job.
The cinematography by Jomon T John was commendable and throughout maintained the perfect mood and tone of a thriller. Editing by Ranjan Abraham was flawless. Music composed by Shaan Rahman was truly fresh and the background score was good. Among the soundtracks, 'Theerathe Neelunne' is my personal favourite.
Thira is a watchable thriller which will not surely let you down. And wishing the sequel of the movie to be a better one.
Parent Guide : Thira is clean for the family audiences to watch.
Movie Rating : 2.75 out of 5 ( Watchable)

BOX OFFICE :

A non-starrer movie like Thira has got released in 80 plus theatres all over kerala against Mohanlal's Geethanjali. This is a phenomenal achievement by Vineeth as a director. The initial reports says that the movie is getting good response from the audience.
First day collection of Thira is to be around 40 lakhs. The movie is receiving encouraging word of mouth which will surely benefit in the collection from subsequent days. The first three days collection is estimated to be around 1.50 crores. The first seven days collection of the movie is calculated to be around 2.75 crores with a total of 1,900 theatrical show count.
Thira has made a collection of 3.40 crores in it's two week run. The movie will be worst affected and a complete washout is expected prior to third week due to the mass release of around 5 movies. The number of theatrical show count is figured to be around 3,000.
Thira box office performance is deccelarating and the three week collection of the movie is estimated to be around 3.80 crores. The movie doesn't show signs of touching the 5 crore mark.
Thira seems to be cornered as an average grosser at the end. Thira has managed to gross around 4.10 crores in it's four week run so far.
